lesson learned

only saying this cuz i don't want you who read this to make the same mistake as i did today.

megan discovered this add in the paper. it was a casting call wanting movie extras, here in san diego. said you make $100 - $300 a day and no experience was required. megan told mom and i about it, mom said it would be worth a shot. so i called the number just to get some info.. anyway. awkward conversation ensued; i end up giving name, address, phone number. and then he asked for a credit card number for shipping and handling costs to send the packet that had the information on where the jobs would be, and how much each paid, etc... i have no credit card, so i told him i'd have to call back. and it's probably a good thing i don't have a credit card! because i searched the phone number he gave me online, found a site that had info on casting call scams with all these stories about how they got people's credit card numbers and all this not so good stuff... so yeah. just looking at it you wouldn't have thought that it could be a scam though! and it sounded like such a good idea too! just be a movie extra a few days out of the week while i don't have a job right? easy money.

cept for maybe the minor detail of them taking your credit card number and emptying your bank account and all.

okay.

so.... here's the thing.

dad went out of town.

shortly thereafter we ran out of toilet paper.

we keep extra toilet paper in the garage.

we can't find the garage key.

anywhere.

dad had the garage key last.

we think dad took it out of town with him.

by accident?

maybe.

fortunately we were at a friend's house last night and they were kind enough to spare us some toilet paper for untill we can go buy some. lol, that's kinda sad really ^^ but kind of them..

oh and also i got a call for my second interview for ESS!! soo that'll be this friday. man, all these freakin interviews and phone calls and things!! it can't just be easy can it?

the usual complaints

i need money. i need a job. i need a car. ..also i need my surf board repaired... but that's a minor thing since i have no car to get to the beach with... and man it's hot out! okay, that's all...

story time!

we don't have a screen on our back door... i don't think we've ever had one actually. sooo we have a problem with critters and things getting into our house when we leave the back door open.
and today i was sitting out in the back yard reading a book (a spanish book i got from the library), enjoying the lovely weather. and i saw this lizard come out of the bushes and start coming towards the door. and i just watched it for a while.. to make sure it wouldn't go in the house... because the door was open. and low and behold it started to make a run for the door. and when it was like a foot away from going in, i threw the book i was reading right into the doorway (i was quite impressed by my good aim actually ^^) and it scared the lizard away. mwahaha

of course i realized i probably shouldn't be throwing my library books around.... but oh well ^^

and that was actually the most exciting part of my day (so far)...

Which of the X-Men Are You?

and while i'm on that topic i'm just going to go ahead and rant about "X-men 3: "the last stand"... if you haven't seen it then you probably shouldn't read this because i'm sure there will be ***spoilers***

DISCLAIMER: this is all my personal opinion. how i saw it, from where i was sitting. and i am somewhat of an old-school x-men fan and take this stuff kinda personally. so don't hate.

first off, the movie itself, as just a summer flick to go see with your friends: just fine. it's fairly entertaining with plenty of action and special efects blah blah blah.. go see it if that's all you want.

the movie as part of the x-men saga: disapointing.
because you CAN'T just go around killing off half of the characters and then set it up for a fourth movie! you just can't! now they'll either have to bring them all back to life somehow, or pull in other random x-men.

i was especially upset about xavier.. that was so totally wrong. you don't just kill proffesser x. he's like the god of the x-men legend. he CAN'T just die. and not like that. i mean really. couldn't he have a more noble death for him than some war of the worlds (people exploding) rip off?! jeez. i almost cried.

character development could have been better. namely for angel. he was pretty much just in the movie to look pretty in the previews. he barely had any part in the actual plot. just "hey here's me with my pretty wings being all angsty. yay!" and the whole thing with phoenix was predictable for any x-men comic/cartoon fan. but sadly that was nothing like it should have been either.

one thing they did do good on was the character of beast. he was probably my favorite in this one and i don't think i would have done him any differently.
oh and storm's hair was pretty cool.. :)

juggernaut was retarded. i'm sorry. but really? "i'm the juggernaut, b*tch!!" yeah. nuf said.

and the "big fight scene" between ice man and pyro.... could have been soooo soo so sooo much better! but it was too short! it was like "i want to beat you down through the whole movie" "oh now we get to fight! hey why don't you just die after 10 seconds of DBZ fighting!" ..boo.

so i asume for the next one we'll have to bring at least one character (if not more) back to life. and the stuff that made everyone loose their powers will wear off. cuz that's what always happens. duh.
i'd really like to see them put gambit in the next one.. and then at the same time i really don't want to see them put gambit in, for fear of them totally ruining one of my favorite characters (like they did rouge... poo on them).

so on a scale of 1 - 10.. 10 being highest:

story/plot - 5/10
character developement - 5.5/10
special effects - 8/10
fight scenes - 6/10
dialogue - 3.5/10

over all rating - 6.8/10

all that being said, i actually did enjoy the movie (for the most part.. big surprise huh?). just those few things i have complaints about. so yeah....

the beach is dandy

when i have a car (and tons of money for gas) i will go to the beach all the time. and surf. heck yes i will. sooo yeah, the youth group went to the beach after church today ^_^ and it was a really nice day for it too! yep yep.
got this picture off of google. and amazingly this is actually a picture of the beach i went to...
only it didn't look like that when i went :(
but it was still nice and sunny :)
if i had a camera i'd post pictures of the events i talk about.. rather than random pictures. but alas, i don't. so oh well

i don't know

went to a friend's gradutation tonight. it was..interesting. always weird seeing people you've known most of your life grow up and change so much.... *sigh*
also, if you're going to give a graduation speach, don't chew gum. into the mic. haha.. ^^;

oh joy

got a letter from the school district that i applyed for the job with... basically it says i'm number 20 on the list of (i don't know how many) people who are getting jobs as the different locations have need of them? ...soooo guess i get to wait more! yaay ^_^; i heard that they really need people right now though, so i shouldn't have to wait too long. (hopefully)

and also rather then spending $200 on college classes over the summer, i got books from the library on the subjects i wanted to take instead! ^_^ heheh, i'm so smart! take that palomar! with your crappy, impossible to navigate website!

today we went to the local street fair. it was pretty fun... cept that i got lots of blisters on my feet from walking around in cheap flip flops. so we went and bought band-aids and better flip flops. didn't get much else.. some ice cream cuz it was really hot today and stuff. and yeah, it was just a good day! :)

haaaaaa!

i just wanted to say that i spent 5 hours of my day today playing kingdom hearts 2. everyone should play kingdom hearts. it's the best game series ever. ...well, it's up there in my top 5 anyway. it's great. you get everything from little mermaid and winnie the pooh to nightmare before christmas.... pirates of the caribbean to tron (yeah, old school TRON! haha) not to mention mulan and stitch and aladin and lion king and every other disney thing ever!! haha, and then throw in a ton of final fantasy characters EVERYWHERE. yep, it's awesome. good stuff. lol, and yes i have a life, really! i was just feeling lazy today, that's all. i know i'm a video game nerd ^^ haha.
