don't you just hate the bible?

no, i don't actually hate it. that was just to get your attention. but really, this is just one of those verses that i love to hate...and hate..with love...and well yeah. read on.

Do all things without complaining or disputing, that you may become blameless and harmless, children of God without fault in the midst of a crooked and perverse generation, among whom you shine as lights in the world.
Philipians 2:14-15
ouchie ouch ouch ouch OUCH!! i was just going to post the verse on it's own, but i have stuff to say, so listen up people.
i don't know if i'm the only one who has noticed this, but we sure do a lot of complaining don't we? after all, that's what we got these blogs for, right? but really...according to this verse, is that really okay? ...think about it along the lines of romans 12:2, especially the part about being "without fault in the midst of a crooked and perverse generation"... this is serious stuff.
i'm not trying to preach at you or anything, this is just something i've been trying to work on with myself lately. less complaining - which should eventually become no complaining (realistically speaking), which is why i memorized this verse. and i encourage you to memorize it as well. seriously, it can change your whole outlook on things (give you a more positive outlook). so don't yell at me for preachin or even think about those pastor's daughter comments... just read the verse again and chew on it for a while.
some food for thought if you will...
bon apatite!

why do you have to do this to me?

dats good. Actually, the same thing has been running through my mind. Half sparked by rethinking all of the elements of the scout law, motto, oath, and what it means to be an Eagle. Complaining should be very scarce, especially amoung Christians. It's very hard not to, but I think that is on indication of a virtue, principle, or something one should adhere to. So I've definately decided to cut down.

There is so much of the Bible that I love/hate, but that seems to be the best response to reading it that I've ever had, because that means that it has hit home and I have changed.
