way to avoid doing the dishes #362.8

it took me OVER two hours and 3 CDs to do the dishes this morning (don't do dishes without music, you'll go crazy). and i must say, there's nothing quite like the feeling of soggy fruit loops and burnt potato chunks, and who knows what else floating around between your fingers in the morning... except for maybe the feeling of scraping two day old crusty oatmeal out of a bowl with your fingernails *insert fingernails on chalk board sound here* (i don't want to gross you out too badly, so i won't tell you about the sour milk and spoiled meat products and such) - and have i mentioned that we don't have a working dishwasher? yep, yep, all the thanksgiving leftover dishes that have been sitting in the fridge for weeks...all washed by hand. plus tons of dishes from baking my sister's birthday cake yesterday... all that stuff sitting out over night looked (and smelled) absolutely beautiful this morning! living in a house with 6 people who are constantly eating creates A LOT of dishes... i don't really recommend it.
oh but good news! i can almost feel my hands again...but i think the 4 layers of skin that is pealing off my fingers may take a while to grow back... oh well

and not that anyone cares, but i'm now officially a college student, as of monday...with a student ID number and everything (yay me!)

Imagine Brent and I doing the dishes every Sunday while we were still in school. . .we had rules;
~one washed the dishes
~the other put them away and cleared the table
It would sometimes take us hours because we were too busy fooling around, i.e. dancing, singing, and engaging in food fighting wars. . .
(also, if at all possible, eat the leftovers so you don't have to put them away in the fridge)
