the new love of my life +

well, things have certainly improved since my last blog entry...

today was good because:
- i found my new favorite car ♥ ♥ i knew i liked it but now it's my favorite.

saw one outside starbucks on my way into work (all the good cars are at starbucks btw). wanted to take a picture of it... but i didn't have my camera and also i would have been late for work.

they called it "the best handling car in the world"... and it gets GREAT gas mileage!

watch it in action! it's amazing. and yes, i want it in this color. "racing green".

- today was also good because i got a $25 bonus with my paycheck! :)
- and because i don't have to watch a crappy movie tonight! we rented shrek 3. yays~
- and i get the weekend off from work! horray!

so that's why today was good.

bad parts of today:
- work today seemed like foreverrrrrrrrrr......
- the guy at taco bell charged me for water. ?! water is supposed to be free! and i'll bet it was TAP WATER... so i pretty much payed for the frigging cup. it made me a little mad.. but i guess a $25 bonus can make up for that... :( i just hate to waste money...

so all in all it was a good day.

california's burning, burning

gotta go shoot augustana for writing that song.... it's been stuck in my head all day. know why? BECAUSE CALIFORNIA IS FREAKING BURNING!!!

yeah so we had to evacuate at 5 am this morning. 8 different fires burning pretty much all of southern california and down into mexico. got up and grabbed what we could.. got my laptop and guitar and some clothes. packed it up in all the cars and drove out into the traffic of everyone else leaving.

leaving this morning was like the worst scene in an action movie.. the sky was all black and smokey, ash was raining from the sky, and a line of traffic stuck going up the hill in front of the house while we're all packing up the cars and trying not to choke.

then it was stressful because we got split up.. dad and megan were at the church office and dad wouldn't leave. and mom and the rest of us (me driving my car and her in the van) drove around forever. we ended up leaving my car in a parking lot... i hope it's okay ><

so we figured we'd head north up to a friend's house.. but the 15 north was closed. so we had to take a very very very round about way... with the rest of san diego.

basically we drove around for nearly 10 hours... it was almost all bumper to bumper traffic everywhere. EVERYONE had to evacuate. we went even farther south for a while because it was the only way we could go.. and there was more to it than this. so yeah..

now we're finally up here and have been here about 3 or 4 hours.. and now they're saying that this area might have to evacuate too sometime tonight. ugh. and if we don't leave then it's still 10 of us in a house with 2 beds, 2 couches and some chairs... not fun.

luckily they're saying most of the fires by my house have died down.. but the power, water, and gas are all turned off.. they said we can't go back for a day or two. oy.

well today was wonderful..... was refered to a special dentist. paid $105 just to have him tell me the tooth that my other dentist wanted to do a root canal on should just be pulled, but 3 other teeth i have probably need root canals. awesome. so now that's 5 teeth to be pulled on my next visit to the oral surgeon. which means i'll have to ask for time off work to recover....ugh. my manager is starting me on 8 hour days soon here. bleh. and opening.. oy.

today i was walking around in carmel mountain and some girl came up and was all "can you help me? you look like you have skinny arms... i locked my keys in my car, but the window is open a crack. can you try to reach in and unlock it?" ...wow. i've never heard that one before. the window was open all of like an inch and a half, but she was able to pull it down a little more while i reached in... and was able to unlock it. she was very happy and thanked me. said she would have had to wait like an hour or something for AAA to come do it. heh..
so that was my super hero moment for the day i guess. HA! having skinny arms is a good thing! i can break into cars >:D .... hmmm.

and tomorrow is my birthday! i'm going to DISNEYLAND! weee~
i hope it's fun and not crowded or raining.... >_<;;
too bad it's only open till like 8 pm... stupid fall hours.

pre-birthday blahs

8 days untill my 20th birthday! going to disneyland with a bunch of my friends :) unfortunately i can't bring all of them because they don't all get along :/ stupid drama... whatev.
i already feel 20...can i just be 21 now? that's what i really want for my birthday. so i can do whatever i want. (haha i doubt that would be the case)

annnd after i get paid again in 2 weeks i'm gonna go get (shhhh) a tattooooo~ ...hopfefully. we'll see if i can make up my mind on what i want. it's not IF i want the tattoo or not, it's just deciding which one i want FIRST...cuz i have like 3 i KNOW i want >< and where i want them, etc... soo yeah. just gotta think about work and having them show.. so i guess i'll get the more covered ones first, then go to more obvious ones once i have a job where i'm indispensable (sp?) regardless of tats and piercings. like a computer graphics job... cuz you ever see those guys on the behind the scenes who do movies? they can do their job looking like they just rolled out of bed! with stuff everywhere! so yeah... that's the plan. roll out of bed and go to work....

went back in time.

the weirdest thing happened to me this morning! i stayed up till like 2am last night.. even tho i have to be at work before 11am.. so i have to get up by at least 10am. so i got up at [what i thought was] 10. got dressed and everything in record time. then go out to the kitchen and my sister is all "it's not even 10 yet" that's weird. i got up at 10... didn't i? told her the clock was wrong. went and looked at the VCR. 9:30. wtf?! go to my room where i swear i saw 10 on the clock... 9:41. (we keep it a little fast). so i figure since i have soo much time i'll turn on my computer to find out the truth. because the computer never lies... 8:34. HOLY CRAP!! *double click* november 4th 8:35 AM... okay really. who is playing a trick on me? jeez. so yeah.. my phone was dead, so couldn't check that. but at least it has time to charge now.
so that was my freaky sci-fi morning... (i think) it's 10:06 now, and i could have had another hour of sleep before work. :( what a waste.

so i noticed... i'm a zombie

i know i have been thouroghly brain-washed now. from work. i recognize products when i see them in stores, and actually check to see if the prices are better than where i work. i know what the product line i used for a picture in the post where i told about when i first got my job...and i know it's not that great of a line. i was in the drug store today and i subconciously started to "front" some shampoo i saw...you know when someone picks some up and then there's a gap? at the store i work at we have to move the ones behind it to the front when someone does that. i almost did that when i wasn't even at work >< ahh1!!

but i'm getting used to it. it's hard work for sure (not the "fronting"..but the dealing with [old] people and pretending like i know what i'm talking about when i recomend products and handling money and doing inventory and orders, etc...) but it's not so bad.
now if i can just figure out how long i'll be working there and figure out my 3 month trip to europe... hmmm.
that'll be fun~

teeth = bain of my existance

soo yesterday i went to an oral surgion to have a tooth removed. it was already half way broken.. it broke at the air port in chicago, of all places...while i was eating chinese food. nothing to break a tooth on.. i thought it was a finger nail in my food at first. GROSSS!!
but anyway, getting the tooth pulled probably wouldn't have been so bad, except that i had a fever the day before (chills, throwing up, all that good stuff) AT WORK. ugh. came home and slept for pretty much the rest of the day/night. then mom got me up early and drug me to the dentist/oral surgion...i was so out of it. dizzy, almost threw up. the x-ray machine hurt my head.. they didn't put me to sleep for the extration. which sucked. they just numbed it. and it HURRRRT!!! and while he was trying to tear my lip off of my face, the stupid raido had to go and play the song i hate more than anything right now... that carrie underwood song, before he cheats.. i freaking dispise that song. i swear it plays every hour at work. it was the most miserable experience EVER.
then came home.. mom was 2 hours late getting my perscription.. so i was in quite a bit of pain. but you don't want to read about that.
so yeah, thanks to this last lovely dental trip we now know that i'll probably need to get 4 wisdom teeth removed.. plus that root canal i already knew i needed. daaaaaaamn. why me?! i take good care of my teeth, really. it just runs in my family to have bad teeth i guess.. ugh. not fair. all the most painful dental things you could possibly need done. and after all this i'm getting braces.
now excuse me while i ice my face...i have to be at work in 3 hours.

and so i'm back! from outerspace...

or south carolina. whichever. it's rl different over there on the east coast. here's one little story for you.

08/25/07 south carolina - day 4:
tonight we went out for dinner with mimi (my mom's mother). she took us to a cafeteria style place called jackson's cafeteria. i embarrassed myself going through the food line... although anyone could make the mistake...there were the potatos sitting there, and next to it was the gravy in the same size dish thing... so then what was this darker liquid over here? i think deep down i was hoping it was teriyaki sauce, because it was right next to some white rice. the question came out something like "what's that dark stuff there?" and with all the attitude and "oh-no-you-di-nit" of a big southern black woman, the lady behind the counter told me "THAT'S GRAVY." oh. duh. i'm in the south and i don't know gravy when i see it... i forgot you have to have 2 kinds of gravy here; one of the dark people and one for the light peole. i'm sorry, i'm just an idiot from california. we only have one color gravy...because we aren't racist still. (ohhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhh!! ......... no no i'm kidding!!) anyway, all she did was answer my question... but you know when you can tell that people just don't like you...or think you're stupid. it was that feeling. x1000

and yeah, that was one of my first lovely experiences with the culture... i won't bother with the rest. most people there aren't all too friendly UNLESS they already know you. southern hospitality must be from another part in the south.

so yeah, back to work. it's going a little better now. first day back was terrible. i messed up on a lot of things. but now i'm doing better... it's really a lot to remember how to do... but i got paid! and it's a nice feelin~

before the craziness continues

well, off to the east coast tomorrow morning. got a full day of travel ahead of me... ugh. i hate flying. so boring. plus i've been sick all week, so that should make for a fun (not) trip. jeez...
johnny and i went cruising in the BMW before i left. we went shopping and had a good time :) <333
so now i'm finally all packed. finished my last day of work for 2 weeks. it almost doesn't seem worth it with what i make.. like nothing compared to my last job. :( sigh...
so yeah.. time to go try to sleep now. i wish i didn't have to go. it's been so hot here, i can't believe i'm going somewhere even hotter for the next 2 weeks. miserable! i hate being too hot. or to cold.. i guess no one does.
i feel so not ready to go. i don't know why...maybe because i'm sick? it seems like i just did this a few months ago... oh yeah... cuz i did! ugh.
