or south carolina. whichever. it's rl different over there on the east coast. here's one little story for you.

08/25/07 south carolina - day 4:
tonight we went out for dinner with mimi (my mom's mother). she took us to a cafeteria style place called jackson's cafeteria. i embarrassed myself going through the food line... although anyone could make the mistake...there were the potatos sitting there, and next to it was the gravy in the same size dish thing... so then what was this darker liquid over here? i think deep down i was hoping it was teriyaki sauce, because it was right next to some white rice. the question came out something like "what's that dark stuff there?" and with all the attitude and "oh-no-you-di-nit" of a big southern black woman, the lady behind the counter told me "THAT'S GRAVY." oh. duh. i'm in the south and i don't know gravy when i see it... i forgot you have to have 2 kinds of gravy here; one of the dark people and one for the light peole. i'm sorry, i'm just an idiot from california. we only have one color gravy...because we aren't racist still. (ohhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhh!! ......... no no i'm kidding!!) anyway, all she did was answer my question... but you know when you can tell that people just don't like you...or think you're stupid. it was that feeling. x1000

and yeah, that was one of my first lovely experiences with the culture... i won't bother with the rest. most people there aren't all too friendly UNLESS they already know you. southern hospitality must be from another part in the south.

so yeah, back to work. it's going a little better now. first day back was terrible. i messed up on a lot of things. but now i'm doing better... it's really a lot to remember how to do... but i got paid! and it's a nice feelin~

before the craziness continues

well, off to the east coast tomorrow morning. got a full day of travel ahead of me... ugh. i hate flying. so boring. plus i've been sick all week, so that should make for a fun (not) trip. jeez...
johnny and i went cruising in the BMW before i left. we went shopping and had a good time :) <333
so now i'm finally all packed. finished my last day of work for 2 weeks. it almost doesn't seem worth it with what i make.. like nothing compared to my last job. :( sigh...
so yeah.. time to go try to sleep now. i wish i didn't have to go. it's been so hot here, i can't believe i'm going somewhere even hotter for the next 2 weeks. miserable! i hate being too hot. or to cold.. i guess no one does.
i feel so not ready to go. i don't know why...maybe because i'm sick? it seems like i just did this a few months ago... oh yeah... cuz i did! ugh.

why meee?

sitting in bed sucking on a wheat thin... i have to be at work in about 40 minutes. i've been super nausious, threw up, and all that fun stuff. but i can't call into work sick or else the dragon lady will fire me. ugh. i'm tired of having a job already... i'm so over it. i haven't even gotten paid yet.

i hope i'll have time to pack before my trip.. i'm pretty much busy every day now... oy. i don't even know if i'm working the day before i go or not. and it's hot and miserable here...i don't know WHY in the world i'm going to travel to somewhere where it's even worse weather than this. for 2 weeks. i hope i get better soon, or that will be totally miserable.
why me?

life is lovely

my boss' had to go to the doctor and can't work this week... so everyone is picking up extra hours.. i'll be working 8 hours tomorrow, when usually i only work 5. bleh...

then the week after this craziness is over i will be going out of town for 2 weeks. into worse weather than what it is here XP bleh. it's been humid and gross here, so i can only imagine how it is on the east coast... darn you global warming! --i mean summer time.

wow, so yeah.. my first 3 days of work summed up in one sentance: IT'S NOT AS EASY AS IT LOOKS!!!
oh my gosh. i cannot even begin to tell you all the things i've had to do... i hope this gets easier as i learn what is what. jeez... i don't know why i'm still stressed, even after i'm done...
yesterday i went to get my car smogged.. ended up getting really bad cramps and throwing up...sitting out in the car in the lovely 90 degree poway weather. just lovely, i know. and i had to go to work after i got my car smogged.. but i could hardly walk! so the girl at work was really nice and sympathetic.. for the first 2 hours of work all i had to do was sit in the back and price things. so that was fine.. but the manager today gave me this whole huge lecture on how i need to just take midol (midol makes me sick) and just come in. WHICH I DID! so i don't understand WHY she was lecturing me about it... i'm not stupid, i understand how business works and that everyone needs to do their part.. *sigh* oh well, i'll just have to take it till i've proven myself i guess...

finally i have work!...no wait...

yay i finally got another job! sales associate with the empire beauty supply store by my house. it was pretty crazy too.. i almost didn't even turn in the application there because i wasn't sure i wanted to work there. but i did, and i got a call the next day, then an interview 2 days later, then got a call the next day saying i got the possition, went in and signed paper work the day after that...which was today! wow. CRAZY.
so yeah ^_^ good stuff. i'm excited. i hope it'll be something i pick up on quick.. not be a newb for long.
i figure this is one step further into my career as a hair stylist if i wanted to do that... i was looking at a cosmotology school near by, so we'll see... this will definately be a long-term job if it works out. so yeah :)

comic con 07 - nerds unite!

comic con this weekend was fun! really exhausting though! i woke up at 5 am friday morning and couldn't go back to sleep... just excited i guess. then my boyfriend picked me up at 8 and we went down to san diego (half an hour away), parked (friggin $10 to park!!), got our badges (pre-registered baby!), walked and got breakfast from a little corner cafe, then went back a little after it had opened at 10 and the line went away. saw lots of neat stuff and got good free stuff. saw my friend caitlin at the FUNimation booth (she does winrey's voice in FMA), and some other people, like the guy who plays goku from DBZ. he was funny, lol..

i was so shocked going into toys r us today... THEY HAVE TALKING BARBIE DOLLS NOW!!!! like the mouth actually moves when she talks. omfg, why not me? actually it was pretty freaking scary. and not to sound like a pervert but i really couldn't have one because i would always be tempted to put things in it's little mouth.....while it's talking. i know, i'm terible. [of course, i already know i'm imature... now you do too. horray for you!]

i almost bought a tamagachi lanyard.... to put my phone and keys on. yes phone. that's what the cool kids [in japan] do. it was pretty sweet. it came with a little phone charm thingie too... but i managed to walk out with my $6.99+ still in hand. go me.

but that doesn't mean much since an hour before that i blew $3 on a happy meal at mcdonald's...all to get the hello kitty toy.

so i rest my case. i'm not almost 20, i'm almost 5... and i want a talking barbie for my birthday.

jk i want this for reals tho. collectors editon = $$ later.

i suddenly find myself lacking in money

well i've hit a slight road bump in my billionare plan... because i bought my first car today!!
it's a '96 jeep cherokee 4x4! and while i was able to pay for the whole thing upfront ($3500), i will have to make a lot of repairs and replace things... AND i need to buy insurance. so there's another grand or so to spend..

can't even drive it [very far] yet because the breaks need repare, so yeah... i like it though! :)

gonna be tough paying for all this without that job though.
help me out! visit my shop and buy something! i'd reeeeeeally appreciate it!

violent sneezing, jobs and jeeps

today i sneezed so hard that i hit my face/hand on a chair. don't ask how. i really don't know, but i covered my face with my hand, so my finger took most of the blow. :( ...i don't think i have alergies?

i don't know why i'm applying for my summer job half way through summer...poor planning on my part. applying at a local beauty supply place and the grocery store. mostly because the ice cream places were already done hiring. so we'll see where i end up. since i'm starting college again in the fall.

the plan is:

• take more art classes, graphic and web design classes, and some business and marketing classes
  
• then use the skillz i aquire from those to further my online selling prowess on cafepress.com ...and whatever else i come up with.
  
• and eventually rule the world and/or become a billionare

yep, i think it'll work out... >:D bwahahaha

also, going to look at a car for me today!!!!! actually it's a jeep cherokee. i'm so excited!! i like the idea of a jeep because then i can put my surfboards on top and go to the beach! so i'm really hoping it'll work out!
